Indiana Family Law Definitions

Here is something I will admit to under utilizing. The Indiana Code has an entire chapter devoted to family law definitions here.

Why do we not use them more often? I know for myself that it is because I will look first to see how the appellate court define the operations of the substantive statutes. That usual sort of legal research.

I will also say from my reading so far, I am more curious why some definitions are not in the same chapter as the substantive law. This is not the Uniform Commercial Code, after all.

Well, it gives me something more to shine the light of this blog upon.
