Child Services Ombudsman Bill Limps Through the Indiana Senate

From The Indianapolis Star this past week, Child services ombudsman bill altered:

"Legislation creating an ombudsman to oversee the Department of Child Services passed out of a state Senate committee today after being substantially altered from a version passed unanimously by the House in February.

The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 9-0 this morning to send House Bill 1602 to the full Senate for a vote.

State Rep. Charlie Brown, D-Gary, one of the bill's authors, acknowledged the Senate changes represent a compromise that does not fully satisfy him and many of the advocates who have been pushing for an ombudsman to investigate complaints about the state agency."
A bit far afield for this blog but news that is still applicable to Indiana family law. Those interested need to keep an eye on this .
