Summary of Indiana's Parenting Time Guidelines Part 1

I do not intend this post as a substitute for reading the Parenting Time Guidelines. Frankly, if you are online then you should have the Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines bookmarked for easy access. I do. You will find a link to these Guidelines down the right hand side of the screen. So, if you do not have them bookmarked already, do it now!

Both parents shall have the right to:

1. Private communication with the child(ren), free from interference by the other parent, and shall have reasonable telephone access at reasonable times, and of reasonable duration, when the child(ren) are with the other parent. The right to have private communication with the child(ren), free from interference by the other parent, shall also extend to e-mail, faxes, mail, and other means of communication.
2. Have free and unrestricted access to medical information and school information concerning the child(ren) and shall be free to discuss the child(ren) and their circumstances with medical care providers and educators.

3. Have the right to participate in the child(ren) s school and extracurricular activities.

4. To expect that the other parent will not enter the residence of the other absent express invitation to do so.
